Mt. Tzouhalem and Stoney Hill Logging Maps

UBC Slide Presentation

We are looking a little more closely at the effect of logging on Mt. Tzouhalem and Stoney Hill (over 20 years)

The clearcut charts are from the UBC slide presentation to Council

CHART 1: The Forest Reserve is inside the purple outlines

This is a map of the two mountains as they are at the current moment. The white and yellow blocks are recent cuts. The green areas are planned clearcuts. (see color chart below)

Color chart showing age of the clearcut

CHART 2: This is what it will look like in 20 years under the "Status Quo" scenario. According to the chart - a good portion of the mountains will have been clearcut.

CHART 3: This is same map for the Reduced Harvesting scenario - there are fewer clearcuts - but still a good portion of the mountain will be affected.

NOTE: The information related to harvesting & carbon revenue, the logging maps, social and ecological indicators are sourced from the UBC Forestry slide presentation to Council.
